Facts on the Ground: the Iraq War is the first installment of Facts on the Ground, an exciting new trading card game based on the political and military conflicts of the Middle East. Facts on the Ground allows you to build your own military force and participate in the battles that shaped the Middle East as we know it today. Whether you choose to play as the U.S. Military or an anti-Western terrorist group, it's up to you to battle to establish yourself as a power in the region.
Facts on the Ground is written by two experts on Middle Eastern history and cultures. As such, Facts on the Ground is much more than a fun strategy based game–it also gives players a window into the complex political, social and economic relationships of the Middle East. In building your game deck, you will come to understand more about the many different groups that fight for influence in the Middle East today.
The Iraq War is the first edition of Facts on the Ground. We hope to release other editions of the game which will deal with other conflicts such as The Afghan War, The Lebanese Civil War, The Six Days War, and many more. Eventually players will be able to put their Phalangist Militia (Lebanese Civil War edition) up against the Taliban (Afghan War edition). The possibilities for customization are endless.
Inspired by great military strategy games such as Axis and Allies, Risk, and so many others, Facts on the Ground brings a fun and exciting new dimension to the gaming world while increasing understanding of the conflicts going on around us.
